Book Your Testosterone Blood Test Today with Urban TRT Gibraltar

A simple blood test is the first step towards understanding whether hormone imbalance could be affecting your health and wellbeing. Our qualified British doctors will carefully assess your results together with your symptoms before advising you on the most suitable treatment options.

To make the process simple, we work closely with a trusted Gibraltar-based clinic and laboratory, ensuring quick testing, accurate results, and seamless progression to treatment if needed.

Important to know: Two separate blood tests are required to confirm low testosterone before treatment can begin.  One initial (basic) test will be followed by a more detailed (comprehensive) assessment.

If you have already had a test showing low levels from another provider, we may be able to use that result so you can move straight on to the comprehensive stage.

Begin Your Male Hormone Health Check

If you’re experiencing symptoms such as low energy, reduced libido, or changes in motivation, the first step towards treatment is accurate diagnostic testing. Your initial blood test provides the foundation for understanding your hormone levels and determining whether you are eligible to proceed with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

In line with both Gibraltar and UK medical guidelines, two separate blood tests are required to confirm low testosterone. This first screening test establishes your baseline levels and offers valuable insight into your current hormonal balance.

What This Test Measures

Your initial test will assess several key bio-markers:

  • Total Testosterone
  • Free Testosterone
  • Albumin
  • SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)

These results not only confirm how much testosterone is present but also show how effectively your body is using it.  This can help to explain common symptoms linked to hormonal imbalance. For more detail, you can refer to our guide to male hormone blood test terminology.

How To Provide Your Sample

Once you purchase your test online, we will be in touch to help you arrange an appointment at our local Gibraltarian clinic.

Preparing For Your Test

To ensure accurate and consistent results, please follow our blood testing guidelines carefully.  This helps us provide you with the clearest picture of your hormonal health.

Fast and Accurate Results

Once your results are available, our medical team will review them promptly and advise on the next steps in your treatment journey. If your testosterone levels fall below the expected range, you will move on to a second, more detailed blood test.

This follow-up test includes a broader panel of hormone markers and is essential before beginning any doctor-supervised TRT programme. At Urban TRT, we follow best practice standards set by the British Society for Sexual Medicine (BSSM), ensuring your treatment is safe, effective and tailored to your individual needs.

Comprehensive Male Hormone Blood Test – Gibraltar

In Gibraltar, as in the UK, confirming testosterone deficiency requires two separate blood tests to ensure accuracy and patient safety. If your first screening indicates low testosterone levels, the next stage is a more detailed diagnostic blood panel. This advanced assessment measures a wider range of biomarkers, giving our medical team a complete picture of your hormonal profile and general health.

As with your initial test, Blood Test 2 must be performed through a venous blood draw.  Book your test online and we will help you make an appointment at our local Gibraltar clinic.

What Does This Advanced Check Include?

This comprehensive test covers a broad spectrum of markers linked to testosterone production and overall health:

  • Total and Free Testosterone
  • LH (Luteinizing Hormone)
  • FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone)
  • Albumin
  • SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)
  • Oestradiol & Prolactin
  • Lipid Profile (Cholesterol and Triglycerides)
  • Full Blood Count (FBC) & Haematocrit (HCT)
  • PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen)
  • Thyroid Function (TSH & T4, FT3)
  • Liver & Kidney Function (LFT & U&Es)
  • Cortisol
  • Vitamin D, B12, Folate (B9)
  • HbA1c
  • Ferritin (Iron Storage)

Together, these results provide valuable insights into your hormone balance, organ function and nutritional health. They not only confirm whether testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is appropriate, but also highlight any potential underlying issues that should be addressed first. For further details on each marker, you can consult our Guide to Male Hormone Blood Testing Terminology.

For additional information, the British Society for Sexual Medicine (BSSM) provides helpful guidelines on managing testosterone deficiency.

If you’re concerned about possible signs of low testosterone, the best way to start is by confirming your hormone levels through a simple blood test.

With Urban TRT Gibraltar, you can easily arrange this process. Once you book your test online, we’ll schedule a professional venous blood draw for you at a local clinic. Your sample is then sent to our trusted partner laboratory in Gibraltar for thorough analysis.

When the results are ready, our medical team will review them with you and explain what they mean for your health.

Blood Test 1 includes measurement of:

  • Total testosterone
  • Free testosterone
  • SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin)
  • Albumin

Comprehensive Male Hormone Check - Blood Test 2

If Blood Test 1 shows you have reduced testosterone levels, the next step is a more detailed analysis of your hormone profile.  We will guide you through arranging this follow-up test, which is also performed via venous blood draw at a local Gibraltar clinic.

Once completed, your sample is analysed and the results are sent to Urban TRT for clinical review.  We’ll forward a copy directly to your email and arrange a follow-up consultation.

Ongoing Blood Testing and Support

To achieve the best outcomes with testosterone replacement therapy, continuous monitoring is vital.  Regular blood tests and doctor reviews form an essential part of every TRT programme, helping your doctor track progress and adjust treatment when necessary.

Your follow-up blood-test schedule will be as follows:

  • 6 weeks after beginning treatment
  • 3 months
  • 6 months
  • Every 6 months thereafter

Consultations with your doctor are arranged 3-months after starting treatment then after 6-months.   Should you need any support or have concerns outside these times, our team is always on hand to advise and help.

All test results are managed with complete confidentiality, and the cost of both monitoring and consultations is already included in your monthly subscription.

Preparing for Your Testosterone Blood Test

How to Get Accurate Results

To ensure your test results are reliable, it’s important to follow the guidance provided by our medical team and clinic staff before your appointment.

Important To Note

Blood tests should ideally be performed between between 8am and 11am when you are not receiving TRT treatment.

Other Key Recommendations

  • Avoid sexual activity and strenuous exercise (especially cycling) for at least 48 hours before your test. Both can temporarily increase PSA levels and affect the accuracy of results.
  • Stay well hydrated. Drink around 500ml–1 litre of water in the hours leading up to your test. Proper hydration improves circulation, which helps make the blood draw quicker and easier.
  • Time your test correctly (trough testing). For accurate hormone monitoring, your blood should be taken when testosterone is at its lowest.  This will be just before your next scheduled injection once you have started treatment. Testing too soon after an injection may produce artificially high testosterone or oestrogen readings that don’t reflect your true average levels.

What If My Blood Test Is Unsuccessful?

If a blood test is unsuccessful, we will provide one replacement test at no cost. Any further retests, particularly if guidelines have not been followed, will require payment for both the test itself and the clinic visit.
